Sabrina Carpenter is working late, because she has to bail her mans Barry Keoghan out of jail. Okay not actually, but that’s the vibe of her music video for her new single “Please Please Please,” and yes honey, we’re all obsessed.

The perfect mix of sweet and toxic, Sabrina continues her Summer 2024 takeover with her latest Bonnie and Clyde vibe drop. Serving up some range, the song itself has hints of Lana Del Rey serenity and Kacey Musgraves twang, that could easily pass for a modern folksy ballad -- quite a pivot from her previous Pop bop “Espresso.”

“I know I have good judgment, I know I have good taste / It's funny and it's ironic that only I feel that way / I promise 'em that you're different and everyone makes mistakes / But just don’t / I heard that you’re an actor, so act like a stand-up guy / Whatever devil’s inside you, don’t let him out tonight/ Please, please, please / Don’t prove I’m right,” Sabrina starts off the song .

The high-production visual crime drama, complete with prison visits, stolen money, and people getting bottles smashed over their head starts off with Carpenter seated in a jail cell. Just as she gets bailed out, handcuffed bad boy Barry Keoghan is brought in, and with just one look their romance begins. Once he’s fresh out of the slammer, Barry gets back into old habits as Carpenter pleads, “Please, please, please/ Don’t bring me to tears when I just did my makeup so nice.”

Eventually, she grows tired of his “Nonsense,” leaving him in handcuffs, duct tape covering his mouth, and a lipstick-leaving goodbye kiss -- the first kiss in the whole music video, might we add. This is probably S and B’s cheeky response to the internet trolling them for that awkward pre-Met Gala Vogue video (iykyk, if you don’t, look it up).

“Please Please Please” marks Sabrina second sampling from her upcoming anticipated album Short n’ Sweet, set to arrive on August 23. The song also continues what some are calling the Carpenter cinematic universe. As the popstar was spent her “Feathers” music video on a killing spree, before being arrested at the end of viral hit “Espresso,” ending up in jail at the start of this latest release.

Okay enough chit chat, check out Sabrina’s new single “Please Please Please” below.
