"Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it." While he was onto something in the '80s, I don't know if Ferris Bueller's advice applies to 2024. Thanks to the non-stop deluge that is social media, life's now moving at warp speed—blink, and you're out of luck. That's where Keep Your Clips Up—a weekly collection of the best videos in skiing—comes in.

Big mountain fans, I was getting ready to show you the door. With the ski season in the Southern Hemisphere barely getting started and the Northern Hemisphere's season winding down, we're in an awkward liminal space, particularly for those who like to watch videos of people skiing steep, deep lines (to be clear—I fall into that crowd, but I'm equally happy viewing a slushy park edit).

Yet, the rerun factory produced more than a few heavy-hitting big-mountain-oriented clips (and compilations of clips!) this week, so there's still a bit more real skiing on real mountains to check out from this past winter. Before that, though, let's get into the more seasonally-relevant action.

Mammoth Meltdown With the ON3P Crew

Mammoth Mountain, California, closed up shop a bit earlier than last season this past month, but the ON3P crew still found time to make some turns under that famous Golden State sunshine. With a stacked crowd of skiers and skate-video-inspired filming and editing from Espen Thomassen, this one doesn't disappoint.

    A Really Nice 540—That’s It

I’m telling you. It’s the simple things. A cup of coffee on a brisk winter morning. That first, leaned-over carve after the snowcats have worked their magic. The distant thuds of avalanche bombs heard from the ski resort parking lot. Yes, skiing’s more-complex marvels, like a brain melting triple flip variation, are a sight to behold, but sometimes the basics—executed well, of course—are more enriching. Here’s Kosuke Kusakari putting down a tweaked-out 540 that I’ll be thinking about for a while.

Niklas Eriksson Goes Backstage at Kimbo Sessions

Last month, Niklas Eriksson brought a camera with him to Red Bull’s Unrailistic competition, providing a dressed-down look at an event that drew some of the biggest names in skiing. As it would turn out, he did the same thing at Kimbo Sessions, capturing a mix of the on and off snow action. There’s a bit less content this time around, but what Eriksson captured is gold, ranging the gnarly tricks that Kimbo Session has become known for, to an impromptu rap session featuring none other than Henrik Harlaut.

Max Hitzig Goes Huge. What Else Is New?

And now it’s winter again. Kind of. GoPro’s recently been rolling out its Line of the Winter Founder's Awards selections on social media, including this second place Xtreme Verbier finish from Max Hitzig. While the Bec looks gnarly from afar, Hitzig’s point of view puts the whole shabang in sharper relief. Know this: if it looks steep on GoPro, it’s hellaciously steep in person. Lucky, Hitzig—ever the smooth operator—knows his way around the consequential stuff.

Got a Minute? Here’s 30 Minutes of the Best GoPro Action Around

If that didn’t satisfy your GoPro footage cravings, look no further than GoPro’s aptly titled: The Season's Best GoPro POVs. We’re used to POV ski footage coming in small, bite-sized fashion, but, at 33 minutes long, this video is a multi-course meal, featuring some of the best skiers around doing their thing. Sit down and consume it one sitting, or treat it like left-overs that provide multi-day sustenance. Either way, this one’s a time sink in the best way possible.
