Mostly cloudy skies tonight; scattered showers on Sunday

Saturday evening sees clouds continue to build in from the west, but we should still stay mostly dry for anyone looking to enjoy some evening plans. The overnight will see overcast skies but outside of a rogue sprinkle here or there, bulk of the rain showers hold off until Sunday morning. Our cloudy skies will keep overnight lows in the 60s.

Sunday looks soggy, especially in the morning as a cold front crosses. Scattered showers will create a wet commute for any church goer on Sunday. The bulk of the rain showers will be out of here by the early afternoon. As temps rise into the 70s, a few afternoon rumbles of thunder are possible, but no severe weather is expected.

Monday begins with a mild morning though the risk for some patchy river fog will be around. The rest of the day will mostly give everyone a reprieve from Sundays showers under a mix of sun and clouds. The eastern mountain counties will have a shot at an isolated shower or two, but everyone else will stay dry as temps get into the 70s.

Tuesday brings in high pressure from the northwest, clearing out our cloud cover in the morning. A cool morning in the 50s will see temps climb into the 70s by dinnertime. With mostly clear skies, the morning and evening commute will be very easy as we enjoy a tiny break!

Wednesday will stick with a similar forecast to Tuesday where high pressure looks to dominate. Not much in the way of rain chances and cloud cover looks minimal for the middle of the week. With little in the way of clouds, temps will rocket into the 80s thanks to a southwest breeze.

Thursday morning once again looks dry with only a few clouds around. We are watching a system move through the southern U.S.. At this time, we are not expecting anything from this system with our high pressure still around. This will help keep our temps toasty as they get into the 80s.

Friday kicks out our high pressure as we watch a cold front arrive. This system will bring back in the chance for some scattered showers and the chance for a rumble of thunder. This system will clear out of here by Friday night, but not before another warm afternoon with highs in the 80s.

In your extended forecast, we dry out next weekend as high pressure builds in. This will likely keep us dry next weekend into Father’s day but we are watching closely for any changes. Rain chances don’t look to return until next Tuesday, but temps will stay very toasty during this time as they stick in the 80s!
