PHELPS COUNTY, Mo. — The National Weather Service in Springfield is looking into severe storms that might have been caused by a potential tornado in Phelps County this weekend after receiving reports of storm damage in the area that uprooted several trees and significantly damaged multiple structures.

According to KOLR 10 & Fox 49 Weather Watcher Sarah Lamb, reports came in from the Doolittle, Jerome and Newburg areas in Phelps County regarding significant storm damage and that the Doolittle Rural Fire Protection District (DRFPD) was responding to areas near Newburg that had multiple power lines come down.

The DRFPD on Facebook said they responded to the area of Highway D north of Jerome, Missouri Sunday morning, where they found many structures damaged, multiple power lines down and uprooted trees. They found no one with injuries but did get reports of livestock being killed in the storm.
