Coldplay hit the boardwalk as they tease new music for 'first time' in three years

Coldplay is officialy teasing brand new music for the ‘first time’ since 2021’s Music Of The Spheres .

Just 20 seconds is all we needed to know that Coldplay have something new on the horizon as the band winds down their incredible -- and incredibly sustainable -- Music Of The Spheres World Tour .

In a short clip posted to their Instagram on June 7, we see frontman Chris Martin standing amid the dazzling lights and revelers of the Santa Monica boardwalk as he sings, “ It feels like I’m falling in love / You’re throwing me a lifeline / Oh, now for the first time / I know we’re not alone .”

The band simply captioned the clip “first time," possibly the title, or maybe just an allusion to the fact that this would mark the band’s first offering of new sounds since 2021’s Music Of The Spheres .

Back in April of 2022, Martin told us the band has, "three more albums," left to go, "and they each have their own thing going on," speaking of what is currently in Coldplay 's immediate orbit before the band officially closes the recorded chapter of their career at a predetermined time somewhere in 2025 .

"One of them is a musical we want to do as a movie," Chris explained, revealing one reason he may have smirked when that hard 2025 date was brought up. "I imagine that will probably not be finished by then," he laughed. "So, we won't put that music out until that film is done. But we have three more projects and there are some surprises of course."
