Henrico Police Investigating After Police Pursuit of Possible Intoxicated Driver

Henrico County, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - The Henrico County Police Division is investigating after responding to a possible intoxicated driver on Nuckols Road, which turned into a police pursuit.

On Sunday, June 9, just before 9 p.m., Henrico officers responded to multiple calls from citizens about an intoxicated driver on Nuckols Road. When officers arrived, they found the car and conducted a traffic stop but the driver sped away.

“A short pursuit was initiated by the officer, and near the intersection of Hickory Ridge Road and Nuckols Road, the driver struck a guardrail,” a Henrico Police spokesperson said.

Police said the driver was transported by Henrico Fire to an area hospital where he is receiving treatment for injuries not considered life-threatening.

The investigation is ongoing and criminal charges will be placed, according to the spokesperson.
