As parents, we all want our kids to be proud of us and what we do (whether or not they're not interested in following in our footsteps). In an ideal world, they might even think that our professions are interesting or brag-worthy. Alas, our children often have very different ideas than us about what qualifies as cool.
In one hilarious video, a mom who's super popular with little kids everywhere was expecting to be a big hit at her son's career day...but she ended up getting brutally humbled by some very jaded first graders instead! Kaitlin Becker, who plays Meekah on Blippi , tells the story of how a classroom of 6-year-olds was hilariously unimpressed with her presentation, and parents of Blippi fans were shocked.

"Career Day follow up!" wrote Kaitlin Becker . Welp, that didn't go the way she hoped it might! At least commenters were quick to let Becker know that their kids would have been thrilled to meet her in person.

"My daughter literally prefers you over Blippi and cries if I put Blippi on or the other Meekah she only wants YOU lol," wrote Mackenzie.
"My son looooves Meekah way more than Blippi," wrote Extraordinary Pets.
"My daughter specifically asks for you and shouts NOT BLIPPI if he appears in an episode! We used to be a Blippi fan too I swear," wrote TikTok user.
Too bad none of those kids were in class with Becker's son!
How Did Meekah From 'Blippi' Get So Popular?
According to Distractify, " Meekah was initially introduced as a minor character on the Blippi YouTube channel. She quickly became a fan favorite of the series, which led to even more opportunities for her. She started being featured in the actual Blippi TV series, as well as the popular Amazon spinoff show Blippi's Treehouse , which premiered in 2021. The character was also featured in the 2023 film Blippi's Big Dino Adventure ."
Meekah got her own YouTube channel in 2022, the same year Netflix greenlit a series titled, simply, Meekah .
"Needless to say, Meekah is not going anywhere. Katelynn Heil from Moonbug Entertainment, the company that coordinates Blippi , spoke with TV Line about the character and Kaitlin. 'All of us are excited about the addition of Meekah to the franchise,' she said. 'Kaitlin Becker, who plays her, could not be more phenomenal. We met her about a year and a half ago when we were thinking of bringing a female cohost to the brand. She’s got experience in edutainment, and she’s a mom herself. Audiences immediately responded to her, and some fans even dressed up like her for Halloween.'"
Maybe someday those first graders will look back and realize how lucky they were to hang out with such an icon of kiddie culture!
