    CAL FIRE gains overnight containment of Siskiyou County fire

    (FOX40.COM) — CAL FIRE and multiple local fire departments are responding to a wildfire in Siskiyou County.

    Around 6:45 p.m. on Monday, Cal Fire said a 15-acre fire was burning near Cod Drive in Hornbrook. An evacuation order was put in place for zone SIS-3315, which means people in the area should leave immediately . The affected area is north of Ager Beswick Road, south of Copco Road and Brush Creek Road, east of Dandy Lane and Ager Road, and west of Desavado Road.

    As of Tuesday morning, zone SIS-3315 has been downgraded to an evacuation warning and all other zones have been cleared of their warnings.

    CAL FIRE shared just before 6 a.m. on Tuesday that hand crews were able to gain 50% containment of the fire as it grew overnight to 27.88 acres.

    Mop-up of the fire will continue through the day along with additional securing of control lines and all hazardous material.
