Mount Pleasant has a new interim city manager, voted in unanimously at the city council meeting that took place on June 4.

Greg Nyhoff will be taking the seat of interim city manager, until the city can find someone for the permanent position.

During the meeting, Nyhoff said at the podium, “I’m honored that you selected me and I’m honored to serve you. I pray I will be a blessing with 28 years of experience as a city manager. I pray that I can help you, help staff, and the community as a whole as we go through this time of transition as you look for a permanent city manager.”

Also during the meeting, the Fiscal Year 2023 financial audit was presented and the council appointed council members Sherry Spruil and Carl Hinton for the audit committee.

Other agenda items were the pay request from Heritage Contractors, Inc. for work on Southside WasteWater Treatment Plant improvements– which was approved– and the repeal of the availability of accident and health benefit coverage for council members, employees of affiliated service providers and their dependents, and expense reimbursement for council members– also approved.
