Common confirmed his relationship with Jennifer Hudson on January 22, 2024, while appearing on her show .

The Testify singer brought Jennifer flowers and affectionately planted a kiss on her cheek.

When asked if he’s seeing anyone, Common responded : “I’m in a relationship that is with one of the most beautiful people I’ve met in life.

“She’s smart, she loves God, she has something real down to earth about her. She’s talented.”

He then listed the qualities his girlfriend has: an Oscar on her first movie, an EGOT winner , and having their own talk show — all of which apply to the Dream Girls actress.

“To me, it’s one of those things where I found where seeing her happy actually makes me really happy,” he said.

“I’m very grateful. I thank God every day and I’m just letting God guide this relationship.”

The next day, he met with Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager on The Today Show when Hoda asked Common if he was the marrying type, to which he said he felt he was.

“I’m capable and I have the capacity, and if at some point in my life I may want to do that, I would know when the right time is,” he replied .

On June 10, People asked Jennifer for further details on their relationship , to which the Grammy -winning singer replied: “Everything is wonderful. That’s all you need to know.”

The two have posed next to each other at events since 2014; however, Common and Jennifer were consistently seen together beginning in 2022.

The two worked on the thriller Breathe , where they played husband and wife.

While filming, Common and Jennifer had been seen having meals together, which sparked dating rumors.

At the time, Jennifer denied them while talking with Entertainment Tonight .

“People create their narratives of it and it’s like, OK, you know how you feel,” she told the outlet.

“We shot a film together and he played my husband. We gotta eat in between those moments.”
