    Arrested Development to headline Schenectady County SummerNight

    SCHENECTADY, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — Two-time Grammy Award-winning hip-hop group Arrested Development is set to headline Schenectady County SummerNight on Friday, July 12. The group was supposed to perform at 2023’s SummerNight, but could not make it because their flight was canceled due to bad weather.

    Schenectady County SummerNight is a free block party that takes place each year in Schenectady on State Street between Broadway and Barrett Street and on Jay Street. Kale, a jam trio, will kick off the event at 5 p.m. with the Albany-based funk collective NolaNauts following. Powerhouse Funk will play at 7 p.m. and Arrested Development will take the stage at 8:30 p.m. Fireworks are set to start at 10 p.m.

    “We’re excited to feature hip-hop group Arrested Development at Schenectady County SummerNight, the Capital Region’s biggest summer block party,” said Schenectady County Legislator Cathy Gatta. “From live music to delicious local food and drinks, this event is a great opportunity for the whole community to come together and enjoy a fantastic night out.”

    This year, the block party will feature Schenectady Sips beverages, which include six breweries, three distilleries, and one meadery. The locally-produced beer, spirits, and mead are from:

    • Back Barn Brewing Company
    • Druthers Brewing Company
    • Frog Alley Brewing Company
    • Great Flats Brewing Company
    • Seven Points Brewery
    • Wolf Hollow Brewing Company
    • Murray’s Fools Distilling Company
    • 36 Locks Farm Distillers
    • Mill Lane Distilling Company
    • Helderberg Meadworks

    “We’re excited to feature the incredible work of our local beverage producers at Schenectady County SummerNight,” said Gary Hughes, Chair of the Schenectady County Legislature. “This new partnership not only enhances the experience but also supports our local businesses and community.”

    Participating lineup for 518 Black Restaurant Week

    Schenectady Sips partners and other vendors will be offering drinks, food, and desserts for sale throughout the event. Downtown restaurants and shops will also be open for business during the event.
