Driver Hurt in Guthrie County Crash

(Guthrie County) A Warren County man suffered injuries in a single-vehicle accident in Guthrie County.

According to the Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened on Wednesday, June 12, at 4:55 p.m. on Highway 44 east of Dogwood Avenue. The arriving deputy located the driver, identified as 24-year-old Jonathan Robert Hogan Brandon, lying on his back in the ditch. Brandon told the deputy he lost control of the 2001 Mercury Grand Marquis while heading eastbound on Highway 44, attempting to pass a truck and trailer. The vehicle veered onto the north shoulder and went out of control. The car entered the ditch, continued eastbound, and struck a tree.

Ground ambulance transported Jonathan Robert Hogan Brandon to the Methodist Hospital in Des Moines for treatment of his injuries.
