Motorists traveling on SR 153 in Hamilton County should be aware of upcoming road construction that will impact traffic

Chattanooga, TN – According to the state officials, starting at 9:00 pm ET on Friday, June 14, 2024, and continuing until 6:00 am ET on Monday, June 17, 2024, Tennessee Valley Authority contract crews will close the SR 153 North bridge over the Chickamauga Dam for repairs.

A signed detour will guide drivers around the closure:

**SR 153 North Detour:**

1. Take Exit 6 for SR 319, Amnicola Highway.

2. Turn left onto SR 319, Amnicola Highway.

3. Merge right onto SR 319, DuPont Parkway.

4. Turn left to return to SR 153 North.

Drivers are urged to use extreme caution while traveling through this area. Queue trucks and law enforcement will be on-site to assist. This work is weather-dependent. If inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances delay the work, it will be rescheduled for a later date.
