Body positivity activist Whitney Way Thore is back on TLC , and she’s more fabulous than ever.

In My Big Fat Fabulous Life Season 12, Whitney is heading into her 40s. As she prepares for her milestone birthday and next decade, she’s taking stock of her life and relationships and looking ahead to her own unique journey to find joy and love.

My Big Fat Fabulous Life Season 12 premieres Tuesday, July 9 on TLC.

In the new season of her TLC reality series, Whitney explores her relationships with her family and friends, the bullying she experiences, new romantic connections, and the obstacles she faces in her life. With most of her friends are settling down and moving toward a new stage in life, Whitney is blazing her own path as she travels to Spain, celebrates major anniversaries, and embraces new and thrilling adventures.

Is Whitney Way Thore ready to move on from the Frenchman?

A teaser for My Big Fat Fabulous Life (via YouTube ) offers hints of what to expect from the new episodes. That includes a possible update on her relationship with her long-distance French boyfriend , with whom she was in an open relationship.

“Do you think your are ready to move on from the Frenchman?” one of her friends asks.

It sounds like the answer is no. In an interview, Whitney admits that she and the Frenchman are still in regular contact.

“Am I pathetic? Probably,” she admits.

Things might be unsettled on the romantic front, but that doesn’t mean Whitney isn’t embracing all that life has to offer. She’s planning a group trip to Spain with friends and family for her 40th birthday.

“I’m hoping that this birthday, in a different time zone, in a different country, could finally give me what I am looking for,” she says.

Unfortunately, it looks like the weather might not cooperate with Whitney’s plans, causing her to wonder if she’s “f*cking cursed.” Will she get the sun-soaked beach trip of her dreams? (Based on some Instagram posts from back in March, it looks like she made the best of it!)

Whatever happens, Whitney isn’t going to let unexpected hurdles get her down.

“I’m a childless woman in the midst of a midlife crisis,” she says. “And I’m determined to find joy in my fourth decade.”

My Big Fat Fabulous Life airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET on TLC starting July 9.
