    Pocahontas County man dies in two-car accident in Greenbrier County

    RENICK, WV (WVNS) — A 62-year-old Pocahontas County man died in a car accident in Greenbrier County on Saturday, June 15, 2024.

    According to Greenbrier County Sheriff Bruce Sloan, a two-car accident happened on US Route 219 near Renick on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at 8:30 AM. Both vehicles were travelling in opposite directions when the accident occured.

    Further investigation revealed the the car in the southbound lane, driven by John M. Kinnison, 62, of Marlinton, crossed over the center line into the northbound lane before hitting the car driving in the northbound direction.

    Kinnison, who was the only person in his car, was ejected and died from injuries sustained during the accident. The driver and passengers in the other car did not have any serious injuries.

    Members of the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Office, Frankford Volunteer Fire Department, and White Sulphur Springs EMS were on scene.

    An investigation into the accident remains open.
