Steve in Manhattan called in to accuse Boomer of being “passive aggressive” towards the Yankees, and pleaded with him to just focus on his Mets getting back to .500.

“I recognize passive aggressiveness because my wife calls me that every single day,” Steve said. “And I can hear it in his voice.”

Boomer defended himself (perhaps somewhat passive aggressively?), saying that he was simply pointing out a potential weakness with the Yankees after the Red Sox ran wild with nine stolen bases against Marcus Stroman and Jose Trevino on Sunday night.

“There’s now a blueprint. The Boston Red Sox had a blueprint to beat your Yankees,” Boomer said. “I’m not passive aggressive, I’m just pointing it out, that’s all?”

Gio came to Boomer’s defense, believing that he would always rather see local teams succeed, at least to an extent.

“I can tell you Boomer likes having fun with Yankee fans, but when it comes down to it, he wants to see them win and do well,” Boomer said. “Until a certain point in the season.”

Boomer says he is pulling for the Yanks, simply because he wants to see a winner in New York for the first time in seemingly forever.

“I’m sick and tired of talking about losing teams,” Boomer said.
