Sun City Ukulele Club continues outreach efforts

The Sun City Ukulele Club has made the first step in its new outreach program with the El Mirage Public Library by donating two ukuleles, tuners and self-instruction booklets written by club members.

Library patrons will be able to borrow a ukulele just like they check out books.

Katelyn Morrison, library manager, received the donations and was taught her first three-chord song by club president Trudy Bryson. The club is offering services that may include help with instruction, demonstrations and the sharing of enthusiasm for this instrument and love of music.

The Sun City Ukulele Club meets 3 p.m. Thursdays in the Fairway Music Room (unless preempted by holidays or special programs) and is open to RCSC members. No previous skills are needed.
