CLAYTON — Police here have arrested the man they think shot a pizza delivery driver.

Jahlin Devonte Moore, 21, of Clayton faces charges of robbery with a dangerous weapon and assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious bodily injury.

Around 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, police were dispatched to Browning Court, a street in a subdivision off of Dairy Road, the department said in an email. The call was about shots fired.

About the same time, officers were dispatched to Domino’s pizza on U.S. 70 Business. Someone there had been shot.

Police determined that the injured driver at Domino’s had been shot while trying to make a delivery on Browning Court.

An ambulance carried the driver to WakeMed with injuries that police said were not life-threatening.

The shooting remains under investigation, police said.
