    At 5:53 PM Eastern Daylight Time, a strong thunderstorm was detected by Doppler radar over Pine Mountain, located approximately 11 miles northeast of Harlan, Kentucky, and it is moving northward at a speed of 10 miles per hour. The storm poses a threat with wind gusts reaching up to 40 miles per hour and hailstones up to half an inch in diameter. These conditions have been confirmed by radar data. The storm may cause damage by bringing down tree limbs and tossing around items that are not secured. There is also a potential for minor damage to plants due to the hail.
