The drought of 2021 was hard on nearly all of state agriculture, which included a hay shortage. Now throw in a con man to further hurt family operations. Jory D. Parks of Logan, Kansas pulled a fraud on Facebook, advertising hay in large quantities for sale, and offering to deliver into Montana and Wyoming. He received advances from ranches desperate for hay for their livestock. You guessed it, Parks pocketed the funds for his personal and business use, without delivering the forage.

Despite Recent Gains, Wyoming Farmland Values Show Signs of Slowing
Farmland values in Wyoming have made modest gains over the past six months according to the latest Benchmark Farm Value Trends Report issued by Farm Credit Services of America (FCSAmerica) and Frontier Farm Credit. Values for Wyoming farmland have shown an average increase of 2.7% in the past six months and 5.1% in the past 12 months.

Hazy, hot days are ahead for Gillette this week
GILLETTE, Wyo. — Hazy days are here thanks to wildfires burning in and around Wyoming. Smoke has filled the Wyoming sky and made the horizon murky. That smoke could cause breathing issues for those sensitive to such environmental changes.
