Former KISS Guitarist Ace Frehley Shares Sad Personal News

Ex-KISS guitarist Ace Frehley has been on a high this year following the release of his new album “10,000 Volts.” The record was co-produced and co-written by Trixter guitarist Steve Brown and marked a return to form in a lot of ways for KISS’ original guitarist.

Over the weekend at a concert in West Virginia, however, Frehley announced sad news from the stage that he and his fiancé of nearly six years are calling it quits on their relationship. “I broke up with my ex, Lara,” Frehley said. “Sorry. She’s gone. I still care about her. Wonderful girl, beautiful girl. We decided to part our own ways, and she’s happy, I’m happy. It was just time. Things go south, right? Three out of four marriages end after five years in this country, statistically. I don’t wanna be a bearer of bad news, but that’s reality.”

Lara made a social media post echoing Frehley’s sentiment and confirming that the relationship was over. “After much thought and heartfelt conversations, Ace and I have decided to part ways,” she wrote. “Our love and respect for each other remain strong, and we will always treasure the bond we’ve shared and the memories we’ve created together. This decision is a step we are taking as we both embark on new paths in our lives.”

Frehley had been very public with his relationship in recent months. The couple shared numerous random YouTube videos together, and Frehley previously said that one of his new songs, “Cherry Medicine,” was inspired by Lara.
