    High speed chase that started in the Upstate ends in North GA

    A high speed chase that began in the Upstate ended with the suspect in custody across the Georgia state line.

    The Hart County Sheriff's Office says they were alerted Monday afternoon, to a chase that was heading their way after it started in Anderson County. Deputies reported that the chase reached speeds of over 100 miles per hour.

    The suspect eventually crashed hitting multiple vehicles at an intersection. The driver identified as Donnie Ray Holcombe Jr. of Iva, was arrested after being evaluated at a North Georgia hospital. Two others were hospitalized in the crash and have since been released.

    Holcombe faces multiple felony charges in both counties. Hart County Deputies say drugs and a gun were found in the vehicle Holcombe was driving. The Georgia State Patrol has also been called into investigate the crash.
