LEWISBURG, WV (WVNS) – If you’re looking for something fun to do over the weekend, Greenbrier Valley Theatre in Lewisburg might be the answer to your problems.

This will be the final week the theatre will perform “Some Enchanted Evening,” a celebration to classical music.

It marks a huge occasion for the Theatre, which just celebrated it’s 57th season.

Marketing and Communication Director Josh Lapping said the theatre has come a long way since back when it first started as a tent by the Greenbrier River.

“It just means to much to be a linchpin here in the community. To know people are enjoying what we’re doing and we’ve made a legacy and made a impact. And we owe that to many, many individuals.”

The Theatre has seen plenty of performers in it’s 57 years of operation.

This week’s musical will incorporate 5 cast members and 2 piano players.

The cast members have only known each other for less than a month, but it helped that their first meeting was a 10 hour train ride together from New York City.

“We had the ability to understand each other as people before we understood each other as performers. They’re was this wall that had already been taken down if you will.”

    Emily Norah Samuelson, Actress

The Theatre will follow this show up with the musical “An Ode To The Red, White, and Blue” in July.

The performers are excited for another 57 years at the Theatre, helping to entertain audiences.

“They’re making me forget my own troubles and are allowing me to escape into this world where I am laughing, I am crying.”

    Kimberly Wilpon, Actress

“If I can have someone in the audience feel seen in their experience and have them like ‘oh, I know what that’s like’, that’s what I really go for.”
