OUACHITA PARISH, La. (KTVE/KARD) — On Tuesday, June 18, 2024, the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office announced that they had received calls today from people identifying as OPSO deputies.

According to officials, the person will tell the intended victim of warrants for their arrest for failure to pay fines or to show up to jury duty.

They are using the names of real deputies and spoofing numbers to make it seem they are calling from the OPSO. The OPSO warns residents never to give out any personal information over the phone if they didn’t initiate the call.

OPSO will never call anyone for unpaid fines or failure to appear warrants.
