In another dramatic episode of Jeopardy!, Adriana Harmeyer clinched the victory as she realized the Final Jeopardy! answer at the very last moment.

By the 15-minute break, Harmeyer’s opponents had proven themselves to the audience. Colleen Matthews, a speech-language pathologist from Portland, Oregon, led with $2,400, and Mark Gagliardi followed with $2,200.

Despite her initial setback, Harmeyer won the Jeopardy! round, with no mistakes and 11 correct answers. Her $6,800 total gave her a $3,400 advantage over Matthews who kept her composure throughout.

In the second round, Matthews was lucky enough to get both Daily Doubles. However, she got both incorrect, allowing Harmeyer to stay in the lead going into Final Jeopardy!

The Final Jeopardy! question came from the category Geographic Name’s Almost the Same.

It read: “Legend says in 1876 a dragon built for the first ‘Ring’ Cycle had its neck sent to this Mideast capital, not the right German city.”

The clue was the name of the German city of Bayreuth, where, according to legend, a part of the dragon was shipped instead of the Middle Eastern capital of Beirut.

“What is Beirut, Lebanon?” Harmeyer wrote in the final seconds of the timer.

Host Ken Jennings confirmed Harmeyer and Matthews's answers, crowning Harmeyer as the winner of the night.

This marked another successful game for Harmeyer, bringing her 15-day total to $349,600.

Harmeyer’s 16th night will be broadcast tomorrow on CBS at 7:30 p.m. The show also streams on YouTube TV.
