New York Giants TE Darren Waller Retires, Posts 'Divorce' Music Video

Relationships are supposed to be very personal things.

But Darren Waller and Kelsey Plum - both of them in the sporting spotlight - may not see it that way.

Waller, the just-retired tight end from the New York Giants, is divorcing Plum, the WNBA star.

That's sad. And ... private?

But Plum first put up a socia media post lamenting the situation and sort of blaming him ...

And now Waller has produced his own music video.

The song, entitled "Who Knew (Her Perspective)," and the video are focused on Waller's recent divorce from Plum. The footage ends with an actress (?) portraying Plum stabbing Waller in the back on a beach.

"As the song is an attempt to see things from the woman’s perspective, the video is an extension of that, ending with me being alone and wondering why they wounded me and left me there," Waller told TMZ .

OK.

Divorce is a serious issue - or, again, it is to us.

Meanwhile, mental health is a serious matter, too, and Waller has been very open about his struggles in that area.

So ... we're not experts on much of anything. But Waller's odd video has done nothing but bring unfortunate attention to the couple's plight, complete with the now expected mean-spiritedness from a drooling audience.

In addition to a music career that to us seems unlikely, Waller, 31, just informed the Giants that he'd made up his mind to quit playing football.

Said Giants head coach Brian Daboll in advance of all of this: “We have conversations, obviously, but when Darren makes his decision, that’s what we’ll go with.”

And so he has. About football. And about marriage.
