While speaking about the incident on Wednesday’s episode of CBS Mornings, King said ““Justin Timberlake is a really, really great guy,” she shared. “Listen, this was clearly a mistake. I bet nobody knows it more than he.” Gayle also added that the singer is “not an irresponsible,” “reckless” or “careless” type of person.

Gayle King emphasized that while she supports Justin Timberlake, she strongly believes that driving under the influence is never acceptable. She urged people to prioritize safety and responsibility by seeking alternative transportation.

As we previously reported, Justin Timberlake, 43, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence (DWI) after a night out with friends at the American Hotel in Sag Harbor, NY. According to the police report, the officer observed Timberlake’s vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign and drift out of its lane multiple times before pulling him over.

According to an eyewitness, Justin Timberlake appeared to be heavily intoxicated, with the eyewitness describing him as “wasted”. Despite Timberlake’s claim of only having one martini, the eyewitness alleged that he was seen drinking another person’s drink at one point during the night, suggesting that he may have had more to drink than he admitted to, according to PageSix.

The police officer who arrested Justin Timberlake reported that his eyes appeared bloodshot and glassy, and his breath had a strong smell of alcohol, indicating signs of intoxication.

“He was unable to divide attention, he had slowed speech, he was unsteady afoot, and he performed poorly on all standardized field sobriety tests,” the cop added.
