New Inside Out Spin-off Series Coming Next Spring Pete Docter Reveals

Pixar is wasting no time capitalizing on the success of Inside Out 2 as Pete Docter reveals that we haven't seen the last of Riley and the fun-loving emotions inside her head.

In a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, Docter was asked about the rumored spin-off series, to which he took everyone by surprise by revealing, "We have finished. It's coming out next spring."

Not only did Docter drop this information, but he also explained that the series will return to an element featured in the first film.

"...remember we go to Dream Production to see how Riley's dreams are made? It semi-explains why they're so weird," Docter said. "We've continued the exploration of the power of dreams and how they affect us in our waking life, as well."

"I'm not sure that there's been a specific release date," Docter said, but it seems that the series will be heading for Disney+ in the first half of 2025.

Inside Out 2 became the first film to debut above $100 million since Barbie earlier this week when the box office stats revealed the opening weekend to be more of a hit than anticipated.

The film made $155 million domestically over its first weekend, and now that number has grown to $205.4 million, taking the worldwide box office to $379.7 million.
