Lately the Upstate has seen a number of standoffs between hostile suspects and deputies. The latest happened overnight in Oconee County and deputies are still looking to locate the suspect.

The Sheriff's Office responded to a welfare check at a home in Westminster, as 44 year old Terry Brandon Ramey was reportedly threatening to harm himself. When Deputies arrived they made contact with the suspect and a woman.

Ramey ran into a bedroom and allegedly grabbed a rifle and pointed it at a deputy. The woman was removed from the home and back up arrived, as Ramey continued to threaten to harm himself. He then set fire to the bedroom and firefighters were called into extinguish the blaze.

In the middle of the chaos, Ramey apparently escaped as no bodies were found in a search of the home and property. SLED was then called into to assist in the investigation. Ramey is wanted for resisting arrest, 2nd degree arson, and multiple weapons violations.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact the Oconee County Sheriff's Office.
