Alligator Emerges From Florida Golf Course Pond With Big Ol’ Suckermouth Catfish In Its Jaws

If given the choice between hitting the field for one snap in football pads against the Florida Gators' defense, or having a chance encounter on a golf course with an actual alligator in the Sunshine State, I'd take my chances on the former option. Even without pads, perhaps. Because my goodness, I couldn't want any less part of this gator who emerged from the water with a massive fish in tow. https://twitter.com/NUCLRGOLF/status/1803818952780349534 Florida golf does indeed hit different. The good news is, this brave videographer who captured the gator having a feast just on the shore of the golf course was far enough away to avoid getting chased. As aggressive and vicious as alligators can be, they tend not to go after humans unless provoked. Your chances of being attacked by a gator are
one in 3.1 million or so. Plus, despite all the videos out there of how quick they can be on land, running away from a gator in a straight line is the best bet to escape being a potential meal. But yeah, this is a classic example of the circle of life. Poor suckermouth catfish, commonly called a pleco, never had a chance, and you just hope the fish's suffering wasn't too drawn out. Once you're in those terrifying gator jaws, there ain't much you can do. It's times like these where I realize how lucky all of us capable of processing these words are to be human. Like if reincarnation is a thing, please don't let me be this fish. How awful would it be to know, at least on some level, that you could get eaten alive at literally any given moment by some horrific, monstrous predator and there's not a thing you can do about it? Not ideal. No thank you. Thankfully the most exotic creature I've seen in a couple golf trips to Florida inside the past year was a giant iguana. Something tells me the next time I head that far southward, I'm due for a gator sighting. Fingers crossed there's plenty of distance between us. Otherwise, I'll be booking it in a straight line in the complete opposite direction.
