In bold print letters, a Nashville billboard reads: “The name of the new Post Malone album is…” followed by the picture of a Ford truck tail light and an absurd amount of zeros. “Sup motherf***as… F-1 Trillion August 16th” Post Malone captioned his picture of the billboard. Just like that, the chart-topping singer has announced his sixth studio album. If it’s not completely country music, it’s certainly going to be heavy-handed in the Western arts. After all, the album is named after his favorite truck and you can’t get more Country than that!

The 28-year-old songwriter and rapper has been flirting with entering the country scene for years. While he’s known for number-one hits like “Circles” and “Rockstar”, Post Malone has serious roots in country music. The Dallas native has been singing country covers from the songbooks of Hank Williams , Johnny Cash, and Elvis since 2018, just mostly as live performances and not full recordings under his name.

Though F-1 Trillion won’t be released until late this summer, Post has already begun to make his stamp on the Country world. His Stagecoach festival debut in April was a massive success that was full of hits and even star collaborations with Brad Paisley and Jelly Roll . “He could have been mistaken for a true country traditionalist,” Vanity Fair wrote at the time, “if not for his habit of inserting the F-word into literally every sentence.” The Country Music Awards also found itself in a Posty whirlwind, where he performed a new original called, “Never Love You Again.” The song is expected to be on the new album, but the tracklist is still unknown.

Most recently, Post Malone performed at Nashville’s BlueBird Cafe alongside upcoming country legend Lainey Wilson . Performing at the historic cafe is a right of passage itself, as it’s often reserved for classic Americana songwriters. Performing there, with the newest Grand Ole Opry inductee Lainey, and all the while receiving high praise is quite the accomplishment. Oh, and this was on Monday night, just one day before his first country album announcement.

And the teases don’t stop there! For months, we’ve been getting clips of new potential songs- including an unnamed daddy-daughter ballad on Father’s Day and a new double-guitar moment with Blake Shelton . Now, Malone has also revealed in his Instagram bio that the long-awaited duet with Shelton, titled “Pour Me A Drink,” will be dropped at midnight tonight. The feel-good song is set to become Post’s second single from F-1 Trillion , whereas the first was his “I Had Some Help” collaboration with Morgan Wallen. Considering that the single already debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and broke the record for most streams in a single week , it’s safe to say that Post Malone will have a successful second hit.

He might be new to the official Country scene, but Post is already claiming a place in your summer playlists. You can listen in to his newest releases and more anytime on the free Audacy app via Post Malone Radio .
