A cat lover is upset after her sister asked her to either change the name of her pet or find it a new home before her nephew's birth.

The woman, who owns two cats named Tonks and Dio, claims her pregnant sister is making unreasonable demands. Her cat Tonks is named after a character from Harry Potter, while Dio is named after Digorno's Pizza.

She loves her cats as if they were her own children. The cat owner's sister is expecting a baby and wants to name him Dio.

She received a text message stating that her sister wants to name the baby after her boyfriend's uncle, who also has the same name.

The cat owner's sister asked her to rename or rehome her cats. Sharing her story on Reddit, she said: "Two hours later, my sister calls me and just says something like, she can't ever be over at our (mine and mom's) house with a cat named after her son. It's disrespectful," she wrote.

Her mother suggested they call the cat DeeDee instead. But the Reddit user doesn't want to confuse him, as he's already 11 years old.

"He's had this name for a decade???? I know I SHOULD care more about a nephew than a cat but this is like my kid. I don't want him to be confused and scared for the last half of his life."

In the comments section, people agreed that she shouldn't have to change their names.

"Ask your sister why she's trying to name her baby after your 11-year-old cat whenever she brings it up," one commenter suggested.

One other shared: "I had a dog named Jack. When he was 10, my cousin had a son and named him Jack. We never had any issues. We also have an uncle Jack."
