Tourists always love Co Galway after a visit to the western Irish county. Located along the Wild Atlantic Way, Galway is home to many popular attractions but it also has more underrated gems that tourists have loved discovering .

A list by Tripadvisor, the site that ranks traveler experiences based on reviews, details the Galway attractions that previous tourists consider 'hidden gems'. The site compiles tourist reviews and scores to come up with these lists.

According to the popular travel site, the favorite Galway hidden gem for tourists is Connemara National Park . One of Ireland's eight national parks, Connemara is home to one of the most unique landscapes you will ever see.

Many bus tours take visitors through Connemara but not as many get out of their vehicle and explore this area on foot. Connemara is home to a number of scenic hikes, something that nature lovers will be excited about.

"There are three walks to choose from ranging from a half hour to two and a half hours," said one reviewer. "The shorter walk can also be done as a guided nature walk which was excellent. The visitors centre is definitely worth a visit."

Another wrote: "Did a hike up to the first stop. About a 30-45 minute loop which was beautiful. As pretty coming down as the view from the top. Meander down through canopy trees and flowing streams. A walk well worth it."

A third said: "With our bus tour, we had 3 hours at the park. We hiked the blue trail (there are 3 trails of different lengths) up Diamond Hill. Great hike/walk, but no mammals or birds. The Visitor Center is exceptionally good. Their collection of artifacts is outstanding."

Taking the second spot on the list is the Wild Atlantic Way , one of the world's longest continuous road trips. Galway is one of the counties that the Wild Atlantic Way passes through with some seriously scenic sites along the coast.
