You can't even hang out on your back porch in peace if you live in bear country. Well, technically you can , but you always have to be prepared to have a bruin crash your backyard hangout. Bears generally won't approach humans (the old adage of "animals are more scared of us than we are of them"), that is unless they have a good enough reason to. That usually revolves around food, which bears will always unfortunately be drawn towards. Even if the food isn't out in the open, or left out in the garbage, bruins will still find a way to get into it. Don't believe me? Well, may I direct you to this
Oreo-loving bear that loves the snack cookies so much, he'll do just about anything to get them. It's unclear what caused this bear to wander up to this couple lounging on their back porch. It doesn't appear that there was any food out, and unless the wild animal was interested in hearing more about the man's delivery that had been backordered (that's what they are talking about when the bear walks up), there's really no reason for the bear to be near them. There's a chance that the bear just loved the ambiance that was present on the porch thanks to the soft instrumental jazz piece that the couple was listening to. Until I saw this video, I thought that type of music only existed to be played inside fancy restaurants (like The Cheesecake Factory). But apparently some people like to cue it up on their own time, and though there's not a lot of science behind this hypothesis, bears just might be attracted to it. As the couple sits on their porch furniture with their dog, talking about the ins and outs of shipping, the woman first notices that the bear has wandered up. She stays calm, grabs her dog, and fails to answer her presumed husband's question of what's going on. She could have easily said, "There's a bear, get inside," but for some reason she never did so. Instead, she picked up her hound and encouraged her partner to follow closely behind. It was only once they got to the door to go back inside that the man looked and saw the sizable bear standing on their porch. Honestly, pretty impressive that she didn't just scream and run... not her first rodeo, perhaps? It's a hilarious video, and definitely worth watching over and over again: https://www.instagram.com/reel/C8TnbTIudWM/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link
