Riley Gaines joins the Charlie James Show Thursday

A young lady who has become one of the most well known female athletes in the United States, joined the Charlie James show , Thursday afternoon.

Riley Gaines rose to prominence for speaking out against biological men being allowed to compete in women's sports. She says that while she never envisioned herself being in the role of being a champion for protecting women's sports, it is "a fight worth fighting"

Gaines was a swimmer at the University Of Kentucky and in 2022 she was forced to compete against a biological man calling himself Lia Thomas and identifying as a woman. Gaines recounted how she felt when she was told that Thomas would be competing as a woman, I was "in a state of total disbelief".

Gaines says she has faced immense backlash about her stance on the issue, but also hears this from supporters which fuels her to continue. " I hear from people all the time who say, I'm a female athlete myself and what you're doing is giving me courage, and that makes it all worth it"

Gaines and Congressman Ralph Norman are both set to speak at Lake Bowen Baptist Church in Inman Thursday night starting at 630PM. You can hear the entire interview below.
