    Homes in Taylor County sold for lower prices recently: See how much here

    Newly released data from Realtor.com for March shows that potential buyers and sellers in Taylor County saw houses sell for lower than the previous month's median sales price of $225,000.

    The median home sold for $197,909, an analysis of data from Realtor.com shows. That means March, the most recent month for which figures are available, was down 12% from February.

    Compared to March 2023, the median home sales price was down 10.7% at $197,909 compared to $221,518.

    Realtor.com sources sales data from real estate deeds, resulting in a few months' delay in up-to-date data. The statistics don't include homes currently listed for sale, and aren't directly comparable to listings data.

    Looking only at single-family homes, the $195,000 median selling price in Taylor County was down 13.3% in March from $225,000 the month prior. Since March 2023, the sales price of single-family homes was down 10.8% from a median of $218,654.

    No single-family homes sold for at least $1 million or more during the month.

    In March, the number of recorded sales in Taylor County dropped by 9.7% since March 2023 from 257 to 232. All residential home sales totaled to $35 million.

    In Texas, homes sold at a median of $318,969 during March, up 0.5% from $317,404 in February. There were 33,358 recorded sales across the state during March, down 20.3% from 41,851 recorded sales in March 2023.

    The total value of recorded residential home sales in Texas increased by 18.1% from $5.6 billion in February to $6.6 billion this March.

    Out of all residential home sales in Texas, 0.08% of homes sold for at least $1 million in March, down from 0.19% in March 2023.

    Sales prices of single-family homes across Texas increased by 0.1% from a median of $318,535 in February to $318,814 in March. Since March 2023, the sales price of single-family homes across the state was up 1.2% from $315,020.

    Across the state, the sales price of condominiums and townhomes rose 9.4% from a median of $297,062 in February to $325,000 during March. The median sales price of condominiums and townhomes is up 4% from the median of $312,500 in March 2023.

    The median home sales price used in this report represents the midway point of all the houses or units listed over the given period of time. The median offers a more accurate view of what's happening in a market than the average sales price, which would mean taking the sum of all sales prices then dividing by the number of homes sold. The average can be skewed by one particularly low or high sale.
