In a recent partnership, Hill’s Pet Nutrition is offering one year’s worth of dog food for free to families who adopt two senior pets from Vanderpump Dogs . Senior canines always have a harder time finding a forever home. The organizations hope to encourage more people to consider them while visiting their local animal rescue or shelter.
Rescue and Hill’s Pet Nutrition offer free dog food for a year for adopting senior canines
Hill’s Pet Nutrition will team up with Vanderpump Dogs to give free dog food to anyone who adopts two senior pups from the rescue. The pet parents will receive a year of free pet food, all in the hopes of finding Cody and Wilfred a forever home. Both canines had loving homes and found themselves in the rescue due to situations that weren’t in their owner’s control.
Cody is a six-year-old Terrier mix who was unfortunately surrendered because his family had financial issues. Similarly, Wilfred, the 15-year-old Chihuahua mix, was rescued by Vanderpump Dogs when his previous owner passed away. The senior dogs have a very sweet personality and would do well in families.
Natalie Phillips from Vanderpump Dogs told USA Today that Cody and Wilfred are not only senior dogs but also black. This could also explain why the canines have yet to be adopted. Moreover, since being surrendered, Cody hasn’t had any families show interest in adopting him.
Cody and Wilfred also walked the red carpet at “The Garfield Movie” premiere. They went along with Cecily Strong, who has a senior pet of her own. Strong further emphasized that people should consider adopting senior dogs if they are looking to bring home a furry friend.
She took to Hill’s Pet Nutrition’s social media platforms, noting that the canines are a “gift to us.” Chris Pratt agreed with her, stating, “…offering a home to an animal, especially an aging animal, is a really wonderful act of service.”
