Toddlers are masters at the art of imitation. It makes sense, developmentally — kids learn how to be human beings by copying what their parents and older siblings do. The only problem is that sometimes they inadvertently pick up behaviors and mannerisms they don't really need!

In a hilarious video posted on June 20, a toddler girl has clearly been paying close attention to everything her mother does....which is a good thing, except that her mom is pregnant and suffering from morning sickness. The result? Mom gets to see her most unpleasant moments reenacted by a tiny person all day long!

"Never ending mockery around here," wrote Stephanie Arnold . Kids are so humbling ! As the comments proved, this isn't unusual behavior for a toddler with a pregnant mom.

"My daughter did this and would come up and rub my back when I hugged the toilet," wrote Autumn.

"Lol wait til you do the pregnancy walk and they stick out their bellies and rub them pretending to be tired," wrote orcaorcaorcas.

"This was my toddler when I was preggo. He would say: mommy hiccup?? Because I would dry heave and vomit ALL DAY," wrote Missy Curtis-Kohl.

"My 4 year old 'rubs' my back...aka slaps the crap out of it and tells me it will be okay," wrote Chelsey Jones.

At least this mom isn't alone! And at least some kids try to comfort their moms (sort of) when they're feeling ill . Taking care of a toddler when you have morning sickness is no easy task!

    What Causes Morning Sickness?

According to Mount Sinai, the exact cause of morning sickness is unknown.

"It may be caused by hormone changes or lower blood sugar during early pregnancy. Emotional stress, fatigue, traveling, or some foods can make the problem worse. Nausea in pregnancy is more common and can be worse with twins or triplets."

While morning sickness might be mysterious , it's not at all rare. The majority of pregnant women experience some degree of nausea, which results in vomiting in about one third. And while it usually tapers off after about the third or fourth month, some women unfortunately deal with nausea and vomiting for their entire pregnancy.

The good news is that "morning sickness does not hurt the baby in any way unless you lose weight, such as with severe vomiting. Mild weight loss during the first trimester is not uncommon when women have moderate symptoms, and is not harmful to the baby."

And just because you have morning sickness with one pregnancy doesn't necessarily mean you will with the next, as every pregnancy is different. (If you do, however, you can probably expect a bit of mockery from your firstborn!)
