A line of strong thunderstorms was detected by Doppler radar, stretching from 6 miles northeast of Salina to near Jeddito, moving northeast at a speed of 45 mph as of 12:28 AM MDT (11:28 PM MST). These storms may bring wind gusts of up to 40 mph and hail the size of nickels. The radar has indicated the potential for these conditions. The gusty winds could lead to fallen tree limbs and the scattering of unsecured items, while minor damage to vegetation from hail is also possible. Areas that could be affected include Chinle, Del Muerto, Steamboat, Tsegi Overlook, Mummy Cave Overlook, Burnside, Salina, Steamboat Canyon, Junction Overlook, and Canyon De Chelly National Monument. Travelers should be cautious on State Route 264 between mile markers 411 and 441, as well as Highway 191 between mile markers 418 and 449.
