Prince William 'had a nightmare getting in to Taylor Swift 's Wembley show' and 'was running late with Prince George and Princess Charlotte ' for a meet-and-greet with the star, an insider has claimed.
The royals were pictured enjoying the three-hour concert from a box at the stadium, which can seat up to 90,000 people.
However, an insider has claimed that the royals' journey into Wembley wasn't smooth-sailing - and there was a 'panic' about their timings.
They told HELLO! : 'They had a nightmare getting in, they were running really late but they had planned to get there earlier so they could have the meet and greet with Taylor beforehand because they knew they wanted to leave early.
'They only had 25 minutes to spare so had a quick meet and greet and then went up to their box before the show, and there was a bit of stress and panic about that because it was taking too long.'
The insider also claims Prince William and his children tried to stay towards the back of the box so not to draw too much attention to themselves during the performance.
The Prince and Princess of Wales posted the heartwarming image on their Instagram the following morning with the caption: 'Thank you Taylor Swift for a great evening!'
According to event organisers, the performance, at the Winter Whites Gala evening at Kensington Palace, was totally impromptu.

Describing the impromptu party during an interview with The Mail on Sunday shortly after the event, Taylor said: 'I could hear his voice and it's pretty good. A nice tone. I'd definitely say he has got star quality and if he ever wants me to sing with him again, I'll be there.'
Speaking about the event in 2021, the Prince said he obeyed 'like a puppy' when the glamorous pop star ordered him on stage for the impromptu performance with Jon Bon Jovi.
