Today : Our highs will rebound after a cooler day on Sunday. We’ll return to seasonal values, with low-80s for the Kittitas Valley and foothills of the Blues, with mid to upper-80s for the Yakima Valley and Lower Columbia Basin. Skies should be clear, other than a few passing clouds in the Cascades. Skies could also be a bit hazy in the Yakima Valley due to smoke from the Slide Ranch fire. Winds will be light for most areas, although northwesterly gusts could reach 20 MPH by this afternoon in the Kittitas Valley.
Tonight : Quiet weather continues tonight. Northwest wind gusts could still reach 20 MPH in the Kittitas Valley, but winds should stay calm elsewhere. Skies remain clear, and overnight lows will be seasonal. Expect mid-40s in Cascades, with low to mid-50s in the Kittitas/Yakima Valley, Lower Columbia Basin, and in the Blue Mountains. The foothills of the Blues will be a tad warmer with lows in the upper-50s.
Extended : Our weather turns much warmer by Tuesday. Highs will return to values about 10-degrees above average for late June (mid-90s in the Tri-Cities). Warmer weather will trigger a First Alert High Impact Fire Day for Tuesday in Kittitas and Yakima Counties. Small thunderstorm chances will trigger another First Alert High Impact Fire Day on Wednesday–this time for the Blue Mountains. Small thunderstorm chances continue for Thursday along with highs cooling back down to 5-degrees below average (low-80s for the Tri-Cities). We get a break in the action for Friday, but warmer weather and more small thunderstorm chances loom for Saturday and Sunday.
