    Ducks, chickens perish in early morning barn fire in Sheboygan County. Cause of blaze under investigation.

    TOWN OF HERMAN – About 40 ducks and chickens perished in a barn fire at W4234 County Road A North early Monday morning.

    Sheboygan County Emergency Communications Center received a 911 call reporting the fire at around 4 a.m. June 24. Arriving fire department personnel reported a barn fully engulfed by fire.

    Fire departments from Ada, Howards Grove, Haven, Johnsonville, Elkhart Lake, Town of Sheboygan Falls, City of Sheboygan Falls, Plymouth, St. Nazianz, Kiel, Cleveland, Valders and the Sheboygan County Fire Investigation Unit also responded to the blaze. And the following agencies provided additional assistance: Howards Grove First Responders, Orange Cross Ambulance, Sheboygan County Sheriff's Office and the Sheboygan County Highway Department.

    Cause of the fire is unknown and remains under investigation, Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office said.
