Man found dead on side of I-10 in Santa Rosa County: FHP

SANTA ROSA COUNTY, Fla. ( WKRG ) — A road ranger found a man slumped over in a car on the side of Interstate 10 in Santa Rosa County before he was pronounced dead, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

According to an FHP news release, the road ranger noticed a Dodge Ram parked on the eastbound shoulder of I-10 near mile marker 20 on Saturday, June 22, around 11 a.m.

The road ranger stopped and checked the truck, where he found a man slumped over. The release said when the road ranger could not wake him up, he called EMS and FHP dispatch.

A Florida trooper arrived on the scene and broke one of the truck’s windows. Santa Rosa County paramedics arrived and found that the man was dead, according to the release.

This is an ongoing investigation.
