A man sought vengeance on his sibling for overshadowing him at his own wedding .

The situation was unfolded on Reddit by the fellow himself, stating that his brother had announced plans to propose at his wedding , a plan that he firmly refused.

In his words: "I told him no. That it was a day about myself and my wife and we did not want any distractions."

What's more, their mother sided with the aspiring fiance , justifying his actions with the presence of scattered family members in town. The Reddit user didn't share this sentiment.

He made it clear to his brother that if he dares to propose on his nuptial day, he'll be shown the door.

As fate would have it, on the wedding day, the brother proposed during the reception. Their mother threatened the groom that if he tried to dismiss his daring brother, she'd follow suit.

Left with no choice, he fumed internally whilst his brother snatched away the limelight: "I just remember seething inside."

Roll on a few months, and the proposer set a date for his own wedding, coinciding with when the first brother discovered that his wife was expecting.

Our Reddit storyteller chose to unveil this news at his brother's wedding.

In his retelling: "My mom was upset but my grandmother told her to sit down and shut up. We spent most of the reception talking to family we would not see again for a while about our coming baby."

Regardless of whether his brother and mother view his behaviour as rude, he believes justice has been served. And commenters on the thread seem to back him up.

One person commented: "Always sucks when people dote all love and attention to one of their children while casting off the other."

"Good on you. What goes around comes around," added another.

A third interjecting a note of humour, said: "Well played. Just don't have him or his wife near the baby shower or birth or first birthday...."
