Strawberries will never be as good as they are in peak season, which is just about coming to an end in the late-blooming zones. While you can get them all year round, they honestly don't have much flavor unless it's their time.

One Labrador Retriever knows this fact well, and on Saturday, June 22nd, she took advantage of her mom's plants to grab what could be the last fruits of the season. Even though she was caught in 4K, it was totally worth it:

I love how @imalineraway absolutely knew that someone was stealing her strawberries, only to find out it was one of her own betraying her! That is crazy!

A couple of years ago, Ipo was rescued from an abusive home. Her mom says that they were only fostering her; they were supposed to find a home for her and send her off. However, they noticed pretty quickly that Ipo hit it off with their disabled son, Ivan, and the two are inseparable.

When Ipo isn't glued to her buddy Ivan's side, she's busy being. dog which means, in part, being a menace . Ipo loves to eat pancakes and go for walks, and she's apparently good at tearing up a garden. The funniest part is that mom knew it was either a squirrel or a dog, and if course, it ended up being the one she feeds and cares for!

Best Ways to Keep Animals Out of Your Garden

Typically, when we're looking for ways to keep animals out of our garden, we mean, like... deer. Foxes. Bears. Squirrels. Not the dog who gets all the food they need just steps away! But alas, we apparently need to keep them at bay, too.

Ipo's mom just had her strawberry plants in a pot, and they were hanging down. She wasn't super interested in protecting them; they're only a hobby. If she had really wanted to keep them safe, there'd have needed to be a net or guard to keep them off the ground.

If you're deciding to take up gardening , there are a few things to do:

    1. Do all of your gardening in garden beds.
    2. Have a fence up around the beds that extends a little bit over, curling inwards.
      1. You can get an electric fence if you're really worried!
    3. Place mesh bags over things like strawberries, figs, or tomatoes to protect them from prying mouths.
    4. Have a floodlight trained on the garden so anything that gets close will be spooked off.

In Ipo's case, there's absolutely no repercussions for her actions. She ate the strawberries and will continue to do so until they're gone. Then, according to mom, she'll get store bought strawberries on top of her food!
