Brush fire rages in Henrico, shut down nearby roads

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A brush fire in Henrico County resulted in sections of two roads being closed on Monday as first responders fought the flames.

The Henrico County Police Division and the Henrico County Division of Fire both responded to a brush fire in the area of New Market and Messer roads the evening of Monday, June 24.

According to police, New Market Road between S. Laburnum and Hickory avenues, as well as Messer Road between New Market Road and Michael Robinson Way, were both closed as first responders worked to put out the fire.

At about 9 p.m., the roads were reopened and crews cleared the scene.
