Hoops and votes: 3 on 3 basketball tournament Saturday

A community day of basketball will hit the courts at in Brookhaven City Park on Lipsey Street Saturday, June 29, beginning at 10 a.m. Play will continue until 3 p.m.

Sponsored by Ward 6 Alderman Andre’ Spiller, J’Marie Global Outreach, and Confidential Bonding, the 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament is open to teams of pre-teens and teenagers ages 12-18. Each team must be three people, and can be girls, boys or mixed.

Teams must be submitted to confidentialbonding@gmail.com . A limited number of team slots are available. There are no fees to play, but cash prizes will be awarded to first, second and third-place winning teams — $600, $300, and $150.

Attendees age 18 and older will have an opportunity to register to vote. Vendors are welcome.

All players and law enforcement will be provided food, water and Gatorade.
