    Man sentenced for impersonation during traffic stop

    SCHUYLER COUNTY, N.Y. ( WETM ) – A Chemung County man has been sentenced to serve time in state prison after pleading guilty to impersonating someone else during a traffic stop.

    According to the Schuyler County District Attorney’s Office, Donald B. Campbell Jr., 33, was sentenced on June 20 by Hon. Matthew C. Hayden to one and a half to three years in state prison on the offense of offering a false instrument in the first degree, and one to three years in state prison on the offense of aggravated unlicensed operation in the first degree, both of which will run simultaneously. He pleaded guilty to both offenses on May 2 in Schuyler County Court.

    Campbell’s charges stem from a traffic incident where he provided false identification to law enforcement. After this, he pleaded guilty to traffic tickets in the name of another person in an attempt to deceive the court and hide his identity.

    The case was prosecuted by Schuyler County Assistant District Attorney Ariana Marmora.
