    32 passengers evacuated after bus catches on fire in Wilkes Co.

    WILKES COUNTY, Ga. (WJBF) – 32 passengers safely evacuated a bus after authorities say it caught on fire.

    According to Wilkes County Emergency Services, there was a call that a passenger bus was on fire on Lexington Road, in which EMS along with Fire and Rescue responded to.

    Emergency Services states that no one was injured or hurt, and after coordinating with the local school system, a school bus was brought to the scene where the passengers were taken to the Senior Citizen Center to remain in a cool environment until a replacement bus arrived.

    According to Emergency Services, each occupants is on their way to their desired destination at this time.
