San Joaquin Co.: Sheriff's K-9 Dies From Possible Heat Related Injuries

A San Joaquin County Sherriff's Office K-9 dog died due to possible heat related injuries, deputies said Monday.

Brando, the K-9 animal, was off-duty Saturday and found unresponsive; he later died.

Deputies said an investigation was underway to determine the circumstances that led to the death of the dog and that they will be taking necessary steps to avoid another K-9 death in the future.

The results of the investigation will be released once it's completed.
